Under the name of Oskar, Vodafone launched its mobile telecommunication network in the Czech Republic on 1 March 2000. It has become the fastest growing mobile telecommunication provider in central and east Europe. It started as the third provider and with fast network development set a record in the GSM history: 98 % network coverage in 9 months.

On 17 April 2002 the number of its customers reached one million. The company has become one of the top ten employers in the Czech Republic and was awarded as the best mobile telecommunication provider of 2003 and the most dynamic firm of 2004.

In 2005 Oskar became a member of Vodafone family.
